Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
Here's my 2013 "Subaru" 6MT I'm selling when the Taco gets built. 91k miles, no issues after my 2013 fiasco with transmission, ECU, engine internals and other stuff fixed from "suboptimal" factory manufacturing. Still going strong for the last 8 years.

    Haha that is... striking!

Interesting how those exact same mods on a Tacoma would be considered by most to be tasteful and awesome (excluding the red camo wrap). :anonymous: I'll show myself out...

Very nice, I love the Lapis Blue Pearl color! If my eyes aren't deceiving me... the '17 is a WRX Limited, correct? Is it a manual or CVT?

I traded my 2016 STI in on my 2021 Tacoma OR just before Christmas. Couldn't beat the trade-in value compared to just a few months earlier. I do still miss going fast, though... :burnrubber:
The Tacoma is infinitely better for hauling my kayaks and fishing/camping gear, of course. It was a major PITA to cram all that stuff into the Soob...
    20201019_093334.jpg

Before that, I had a 2011 WRX hatch.
    IMAG0143-1.jpg

My wife is currently driving a 2017 Forester XT. That puppy is way faster than it needs to be, even with the dim-witted CVT transmission! At least it has paddle shifters to really slam those "gears". :p

And my brother has a 2017 Crosstrek. Lots of Subarus in this family!

Thank you, yours are nice as well

Good eye it is the Limited model. It's a CVT, and the '08 was automatic as well. I know most would consider that lame but this is my wife's car and that's what she prefers. My Tacoma is a manual and almost every vehicle I've owned have been. I'll always have at least one stick shift in the garage!

Since the auto WRX's aren't popular they're a lot harder to find...especially stock and in nice shape with low mileage. Both of them I bought out of state and had delivered. The '17 is Subaru certified pre-owned with under 15k miles on it.

and agreed the Lapis Blue is sweet...

Ahh gotcha, the LED headlights are the giveaway! I loved the LED low beams in my 2016... but the 9005 halogen high beams were pretty crappy in comparison. The best mod I did to it was install 9011 halogen bulbs in the high beams. They didn't match the bright white LEDs, but they were almost twice as bright as the stock bulbs! I also got Morimoto LED fog light housings that matched the low beams perfectly, those were also totally worth it.

Definitely a man after my own heart with the manual truck! The only reason I traded my STI was because the new Tacoma was a manual. Well, that and I don't have room for 3 vehicles at the moment... :p The best part was that my custom shift knob from the Subaru fits perfectly on the Tacoma, so at least my right hand still thinks I'm driving the STI - except the shift throws are 3x as long, plus the difference in acceleration! :turtleride:

Good to know regarding the lights. Planning to leave the car mostly stock but will make some minor tweaks over time.

I hear ya on the Taco! I love me a truck with a manual transmission...that's what I learned to drive on and have always had one since then. Shift knob looks nice, it's cool when you can reuse parts.

I figured I'd share this cool truck in its own post before I had it merged into obscurity in my Nissan thread; It's a JDM Datsun firetruck that I saw in someone's driveway. Apparently, the Datsun named was used well into the 1990s in Japan; This is a clearly based on a 1986-1993 Nissan Hardbody pickup, albeit in a cab configuration that was never offered in North America.

I have seen both Toyota and Nissan variants of these "mini fire engines" listed online, and all of them are no-frills models with 4WD, a manual transmission, no A/C, and an AM radio; This one appeared to have an aftermarket stereo installed, and I couldn't tell if it had A/C or not. Nobody came out of the house and chased me off the property, so I'm guessing the owner is used to people stopping to take a look!

I just picked up a 2021 Outback (Onyx XT trim) and am liking it so far. It has a very good mix of safety, economy, performance, and utility/functionality. The turbo 2.4L has plenty of pickup. Don't know how I feel about the cvt yet. Would love to tune the 2.4T down the road to get closer to 300hp but would need to see how this new high tq cvt holds up first.

I have a 2014 Outback 6 speed, one of the last manuals produced for that model. It's been a great car over the last 7 years. Built like a tank and handles really well for having relatively high ground clearance. The only "mods" are a class 3 hitch for hauling our little fishing boat (as a backup to the truck), and Cooper AT3 tires with aggressive tread. It mostly sits in the garage being used only for long range trips to camp, hike, kayak, or whatever. Needless to say it hasn't gotten a ton of use over the past year, but that should change soon. I'll post up some photos later, though she's not much to look at being a base model and all.
