    Hey folks,

I know it's a pretty small group that may be interested in this combo, but I couldn't find any sign of this being done before so I thought I'd share. There has been some chatter about this system not working with some tonneau covers, but can confirm that the new Pelican Cargo bx135 fits using the appropriate cross bed mounts.

It leaves about 27" of room in a short bed to the closed tailgate (allowing for the lid to open all the way without hitting the canister). Can be removed in under a minute for when you need more space. There is about 2" of space under the cover when it's closed.

Fits the Tacoma pretty perfectly, I suppose it could be 1.5"-2" wider but that's pretty close. Sits nicely between the wheel wells. As for fitment on non tonneau trucks, the cross bed mount sits inside the bed rail on both sides so you should be good to go unless you have something in that location to conflict.

It's a pricey way to go, but it's close to perfect for my use. I need someplace secure to store equipment when I'm away from the truck, and I'm comfortable with the fact that someone would have to get through the tonneau lock and then 2 padlocks to get to my gear, in full view standing in the bed. Good enough for me there.

Don't expect the case to be built like a standard Pelican case. It's thinner and lighter. The finish does scratch very easily as well.

I haven't tested the water resistance but can if anyone is curious. Fire away if you have any questions and I'll try to answer as best I can.

The Pelican videos show them locking with flimsy TSA cable locks, but they will take a small padlock. Currently fiddling with that, looking for the sturdiest black rubberized locks I can find.

What sire did you get the Cargo Case from. The Prices I have found aren't to bad but I am looking to see if there are better deals out there.

Nice Rack! That case and rail setup looks really nice. Case looks like it has lots of options for locking it up, tempting me to upgrade from my 30 dollar setup.....

That’s a slick setup. I like that it can be quickly and easily removed. Thank you for sharing. This has me thinking.

That setup looks pretty sweet, but damn if its not really expensive. At almost 700 all in for the box and mount.

Man that box is sweet. The mounts are the icing on the cake for me.

What does the inside look like?
