So, my 2019 Tacoma off road access cab had spacers and bigger tires. I lost 3 mpg with this! Oh but it looks good. I just added the pedal commander. Eco mode best mpg is 14.5! Freeway driving. Went up to Prescott, not pulling anything. 14.5/ mpg went to City mode, still says 14.5?? Does this sound right?? Seems really low?? Is this correct? Thx

Sounds about right. Don't expect any better fuel economy with a pedal commander. All those devices do is adjust throttle pedal sensitivity. Your oversized tires and driving habits are what need to be changed to see an improvement in MPG's.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

Anything that increases rolling resistance -- taller, wider, heavier tires or increases profile against the wind -- lift, roof rack, air dam delete -- will decrease mileage. Higher speeds really hurt economy with these trucks too, it really drops when over 65 mph.

Poor economy aside you have a great looking truck there.:thumbsup:

How big of a tire? You also have, mud tires, roof rack and heavier side steps. Most likely you’re also loaded with some items in the bed. 14.5 sounds about right.

    ^^ Exactly.
If you're relying on the truck's computer, you're not necessarily getting a true indication of MPG.
What matters to your wallet is the MPGs per tankful (or miles per tankful). Instantaneous MPGs can be helpful as an indication of the effect that your driving style/load & road conditions has on MPGs, but meaningless with respect to the cost of fuel consumption.
    Again, do the calculator method.

Lots of other factors to consider like speed and wind. Everyone says highway and typically highway mileage is better by far on most vehicles, but those of us with vehicles that are far (yours is even worse with roof/light rack) from aerodynamic, MPGs take a drastic dip above a certain MPH. I noticed mine take a nose dive about 60-65.
Overall, 14.5 sounds about right for your outfit. I have one up on tire size and a 2/1 level kit and I’m down to 17-18 all highway, but I keep it below 70 mph.

To give a comparison, my truck has a camper shell, rack, 1” lift, 265/75/16s and a Sprint Booster (which does the same thing as a Pedal Commander) and I get about 16 MPG around town and in the mountains for work (up and down 5000 ft. elevation), and about 20 MPG on the freeway, for a combined ~18 MPG average. I usually check it with my calculator at each fillup because the dash is not very accurate. I add 3% to my mileage too, to account for the tire size.

As others have said - the lack of variance between MPG isn't bad, but the MPG itself seems suuuuper low. Was the 17.5MPG what you were averaging with the PC and no lift, or you added the lift and the PC at the same time?

I use a Sprint Booster, similar product. I never saw it affect gas up or down except when I first got it and played around with it some. (And may have pushed my four cyl some, for the heck of it.)
I use a calculator and save the fills and do a three tank average. That may be useless but I feel very scientific.

No need to add 3% for 265/75/16s. It’s actually bang on if you check with the GPS.

Stop it, I like living in denial that my MPGs aren’t that bad! Really tho, I’ve heard this before, but why does Toyota make the speedo/odo 3% off on purpose?

Yep. Physics say ditch the weight, put regular tires on it, lose the lift and *boom* a miracle occurs and you instantly gain 5 mpg.
    Looks cost.
