    You will have to get it out and get the part numbers off it and either search for it or call around to local salvage yards and see what they have. Are you sure it's bad?

    Oh you have the no crank thread.
    The PCM has absolutely nothing to do with the starter circuit on a 1st gen Tacoma, you could completely unplug the PCM and the truck should still crank over it just wouldn't run.

    i do….. i wasnt sure about the relevance between the pcm an the starter, i know they play a role…im new to the toyota world….we have dodges an chevys lol

    so if the pcm has no role….then it must be in the switch…correct?……or in the fuse box..?

    Yes on most domestics the PCM is involved in enabling the starter but 1st and 2nd gen Tacomas the PCM is not involved in enabling the starter.

    You gotta trace out the circuit with a test light and see where your power ends, go to the STA fuse first and see if it has power on both sides when the key is held in the crank position.

    ok, so after tracing from the switch alll the way to the starter it ended up being a loose wire in the fuse box…it was where the starter relay is…now on to the clutch, time to put a new one in it
