What is the actual payload rating of the 2021 Tacoma TRD PRO? On the door placard it says 990lbs well I am already maxed out. Toyota website says 1135lbs which would be awesome. I see the same 1135lbs on other Taco models on Toyota website specs.

If your door sticker says 990 lbs, that is what it is. The higher payloads may come from different variants, the highest payload coming in a 2wd access cab.

Your real payload depends on how the truck is optioned.

What it says on your door sticker is what it is for your vehicle.

as stated above, door sticker is specific to your vehicle, as it came from factory. what are you carrying to already be maxed out?

now if you changed out your suspension (primarily the leaf pack and coils) then your payload rating would change accordingly.

    Should've bought a bigger truck.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
So your truck has options weighing 145 pounds which is why your door sticker says 990 pounds.
You can modify your suspension all you want to decrease the amount of sag/squatting when loading it, but the overall rating from Toyota's perspective will still be 990 pounds. There are too many other aspects of the vehicle (brakes, frame strength, etc.) that also influence the GVWR. It's CYA for Toyota.

Eh most off road trucks have shitty payload ratings. Ford Raptor and Ram Power Wagon have the same payload rating as......the Honda Ridgline lol. 1500 lbs.

Which is higher than the Tacoma..... You can get Fx4 package f150s with 2000+ lbs payload rating, like mine.

Yeah I always found the Honda having more payload than Tacoma's really funny.
I've maxed out my payload many times. Considering going full size too.

Agreed, that taco is a good vehicle for some things but not that great for others.

My old 18 Supercrew Raptor payload sticker says 1090.

    TRX stickers are 13xx.

bed cover, bed rack, ikamper mini, sliders, two people, fridge, li generator camping supplies it adds up fast! I guess no more weight for mtnbikes and hitch rack. I can’t believe my 2020 Ridgeline can carry more weight as a unibody vs a truck frame on ladder.

Okay so I am confused on my door jamb of my Tacoma is said it's rated for 990 put on Toyota's website it says that the specs that I have on my truck is rated for 1155 and I also have no factory such as a tonneau cover or side steps that would decrease the payload on the truck. I have inserted a screenshot of what I am looking at and highlighted the specific specs on my truck

A base configured TRD OR can have a payload of up to 1155lbs. The options on your specific truck have dropped that to 990lbs as indicated on the door jamb sticker.

legally the payload rating will never change from that door sticker.
