Hi i just bought my first toyota and its a 2015 tacoma trd off road. So far i love it but as with all used vehicles it needs work. When looking for parts nhtsa says it is a delux model and when looking for parts usually see base, trd pro and pre runner. What one do i select. TIA!

I've had my 2010 since 2016 and I'm still not sure and all I know it is not a TRD. All I now for sure it is 4.0, auto, SR5, 4x4, and an extended cab. I try and use the S/N when ordering parts.

Most parts are the same across all models

4wd vs 2wd, v6 vs l4, auto vs manual are big distinguishers

    What are you looking for?

I am starting to see that. I Want to refresh the suspension the front is bouncy on the left side and the rear springs are flat.
want to put in the heavier springs in the rear. I also do not want to stray to far from factory lift.

Flat or flat-ish springs are common. May or may not need replacing, depending on how you will use the truck.

    Miles?

    Use?

I'd start with a 4 shock replacement. Even if you need springs, with a no lift goal, there is no risk in doing the shocks first

All 6 lug 2nd and 3rd gens can fit the same shocks even though different models come with different shocks. Leaf springs are the same fitment.

    Base is 6 lug
    Pro is pro

I looked that up on the nhtsa vin decoder it is a free decoder for any vehicle sold in the USA also works on atv’s, motorcycles and boats.

it has 160,000 going to use mostly to haul my atv’s and tent camping

Post 4 is the right answer. Other sources are agrigators at best and may or may not be accurate.

@memario1214 is good for advice and parts via hotshot offroad

The dead giveaway for a TRD Offroad: it will have a 4 channel hydraulic brake booster under the hood, on the driver's side firewall, instead of a standard booster.

Other trucks will not have it (maybe the Pro in years it was offered. I don't know that for certain). The Sports had a slightly larger rear diff and a hood scoop. My TRD OR shows as a "base" in various places, as does a friend's 2011 TRD Sport. The nomenclature is not always consistent.

If it's 4x4, you'll want 4x4 parts - some parts are the same for all trucks, but 4x4 and RWD are major differences for a lot of parts (drivetrain parts, front suspension). Ditto the hydraulic brake system for the TRDOR.
