Anyone have the OEM part number for the fuel filter on an 02 3.4 5spd 4x4? I tried searching a couple parts places and they were only showing a 'sock' for inside the tank. Trying to do some maintenance before winter.

Also is there a better fuel filter than OEM?

    Thanks!!

I used a Wix filter, #33319, on my 2004 3.4L. Very easy job but you need flare line wrenches or the nuts will round off as they're apparently made of swiss cheese.

Thanks! I was able to find numbers for other brands (Advance, napa) but can't find Toyota brand number. Not sure if they're better or not

Toyota 23300-62010, yes they are the best filter. There was a thread doing a comparison of the OEM fuel filter and 3 or 4 others. They cut them open and checked out the filtering media. It was determined the OEM was the best. But still, wix makes a good filter and I wouldn't hesitate putting one on. Also I believe the OEM filter comes with new washers and the others didn't.

Oops, did I give him the wrong one? My bad, I might have given him the 4 banger filter number. I'll double check.

I saw where they have done oil filters and OEM came out on top so I assumed fuel filter might be the same way.

For future reference, to find Toyota part numbers, put your VIN in at toyotapartsdeal.com. It will show the parts that fit your car/truck.

In fact, I didn't have to do any gorilla tightening to the flare nuts to make it not drip - that was not the case with the genuine Toyota fuel filter I installed 3 weeks ago. You do have to reuse the bracket from your old filter, same case with many other aftermarket filters.

I'm sure the filtering capabilities are less than OEM despite them looking identical in every way from the outside, but I bought mine for diagnostic purposes. In any event, you could afford to change them every other oil change - a 3 minute process.
