    Hey fellow Taco's!

I'll be headed on vacation for ten days, my driveway has about a fair angle/slope...

Question is, based on the overall mechanical layout of the 3rd Gen Taco, is it better to park nose-up or nose-down in my driveway for extended periods of time? Does it even matter?

    Thanks in advance!

My driveway is on an incline for drainage. Not huge but enough. I park both ways and always make sure to engage the parking brake so the trans isn't taking all the stress whether it's nose up or down.

No issue either way. One thing that I tend to do when parking is engage the e-brake before releasing your foot from the brake pedal. Limits wear and tear on your transmission. Anyone else do that?

Either or......no difference. Set the P-brake.

Turn the front wheels, so if it does roll, it rolls off the driveway and not into the road. This is fundamental parking technique on an incline.

My driveway is sloped, and I park nose-down.

    Have for 5 1/2 years.

    It isn't an issue.

I’ma parking brake nazi. ALWAYS set the parking brake before letting off the brake pedal. I had a parking pin break off of a 86 mustang and it ended up halfway through the neighbors living room wall. Parking brake from then on!

Drippage is never good, but easily fixed with antibiotics.

Like others have said, it doesn't really matter. If you're expecting rain or an over-enthusiastic sprinkler getting your truck wet while you're gone I would park it facing up-hill so the bed drains better.

FWIW my driveway has a slight slope (~5%) and is comically short so one, sometimes two of my vehicles sit on it sideways, generally driver's side down. I worried about it at first, but 3+ years in I've noticed no ill effects.

For extended periods of time I try to leave nose up (when I remember and can be bothered with it). But only because it seems my bed drains water better that way. Either way is really not an issue to worry about, but I don’t get standing water in the bed when I park nose up, and there for no mess when I drive away for the first time.

Look closely at the front of the bed floor. I suspect you will find some small holes, these are drains. These are typically located in the front corners of the bed floor.

I've heard a theory about parking nose up since the front of the frame is fully boxed. This will allow water to drain back toward the C-channel part of the frame.

Will it really matter? Probably not.
