I drive with my parking lights on 95% of the time, with the other 5% of the time being when it's actually dark enough to use the low-beams. It seems I may not have noticed that the LED DRLs are run with a lower output in both the parking and low-beam light settings. I thought it was ONLY the low-beam setting that caused the DRL to dim.

Is that the normal operation? Dimming in both parking and low-beam settings?

If so, what would be a solution for having the DRL run at full power in the parking setting, but NOT with the low-beams on? A relay between the 12v lines to the DRL that triggers with the low-beam?

When I had a 2018 with non-automatic headlights, the DRL's were still full power on the parking light setting. Maybe it's different with auto headlights...

Your setup is normal. To get the DRL to turn on with all parking lights Get a DRL harness from Ali express or eBay. It senses the voltage of the battery to turn on the DRL. To dimm or turn off the DRL hook the sensor cable up to you low beams instead of the running lights.

Seems? Remove the plug to both headlights. Select Parking, look at DRL. Select Low beam, Look at DRL.

Is there a reason you drive with your parking lights on 95% of the time? If you want 100% DRL, it seems common sense to just drive without your parking lights on. Unless you changed your head unit setting for the brightness level, isn't it really dark during the day and if you changed the setting, really bright at night?

This question came about because I swapped my lights out for Morimoto XBs. I never drove with DRL only with the stock lights, hence my question. I thought the difference might have been the lights at first, but I'm hoping to confirm or deny my theory before I tear into the harness.

I like to have the lights on the back because my area is packed to the rafters with retirees and I want to be as visible as I can be.

    It's your XB lights.
OEM have a high (bright) & Low (dim) input.
