I have a 2004 Tacoma SR5 Manual Transmission. I need to replace the Parking Brake Lever. Does anyone know the part numbers that is needed to complete the job? I found the parking brake lever is part number 47612-35020. I am not familiar with the cables that is needed with it. And if anyone can help out with other parts that are possibly needed I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I thought i read it right. But it's the Handle Sub-Assembly Parking Brake Control (46104-35040) that broke. Sorry about that. Im just not familiar with the cables that go with that parking brake assembly?

I replaced both of mine last year. There are two, a rear on and a front one, they connect at the intermediary lever under the driver's seat. With mine the brake light wouldn't go out, turns out it was the front cable was slightly stretched, which I didn't figure out until after replacing the rear one LOL . . .

There is a long stud on the end of the rear cable with a 1 1/4" coupler at the intermediary lever. It may be rusted up but this is to take the slack out of the rear cable, it does not adjust the front one. Make sure the intermediary lever components are free and keep them lubricated, they're a bugger if they get rusted up.

Make sure you get the right ones, especially the rear, I went OEM for this reason. There are different versions and the length can vary.

Thanks for the info. By any chance do you have the OEM numbers for the cables?

Probably, but it's an '03 and may not be correct, and mine is an extra cab. Go here

    https://autoparts.toyota.com/

Enter your VIN or select by model/trim/engine, then search for brake cable. Once you have the correct PN, search for the best price - I recommend Ourisman Toyota of Richmond (formerly McGeorge.)

I actually got my rear cable off Fleabay, but be very careful as they sell a lot of aftermarket crap as OEM.
