Panoramic View vs. Multi-terrain Monitor in Advanced Tech Package

I've noticed on the TRD sport that they have the panoramic view monitor in the advanced tech package. However in Toyota's marketing for the TRD off road advanced tech package it's called the multi-terrain monitor with no mention of panoramic view. Watching reviews of the off-road, it appears that the multi-terrain is nearly identical to the panoramic, with birds eye view etc. Toyota's marketing has me confused. I'm pretty sure the TRD off road still has the panoramic view, but is it just called something different?
Can anyone here clarify, even more helpful if it's someone with a TRD off road 2021 advanced tech package can elaborate.

They both do the same thing. Only difference is the Offroad has an off-road oriented screen when 4LO/MTS/CRAWL is engaged.

 

Does your Off-Road with the Advanced Tech Package include Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Back-Up Sonar? My dealer is telling me I can't have the stuff in the Tech Package and the stuff in the Advanced Tech Package. Is that true?

Can you tell me where I can pull that up? I need to send that to my dealer. They are saying the exact opposite.

 

This is from the Ebrochure: For the Off-Road the Advanced Technology Package:

Advanced Technology Package: Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM), power, color-keyed outside rearview mirrors, and rear parking sonar (D-Cab only)

The Sport does include the regular Tech stuff too with the Advanced Tech gadgets:

Advanced Technology Package: Panoramic View
Monitor (PVM), power, color-keyed outside rearview
mirrors with turn signal and blind-spot warning indicators, and rear parking sonar (D-Cab only)

 

Basically, the Off-Road limits what is in the Tech Package and the Advanced Tech Package: TP= BSM + RCTA. Advanced TP= MTM + Rear Parking Sonar.

Is the MTM cool to mess around with? Is the rear parking sonar better than the regular rear camera display? My build has the TP will I regret not having the MTM and rear sonar?

Effing first-world problems for sure.

 

Did you ever get a clear answer if you can only get MTM or BSM but not both (in a TRD OR)?

You can get both MTM & BSM on the OR. BSM is part of the advanced tech package. The MTM is separate from the advanced tech but you must have advanced tech to get the MTM.

Go to the configure site and "build" a truck and you should see this play out.

Interesting, I cant get the configure tab to show both BSM and MTM in a single tech package. It only show either or for me (located in the PNW). Maybe it is just included with the MTM system so there is no need to state it?

 

I have the advanced tech package on a 21 DCSB TRDOR. I have blind spot monitors.

Remember: the configurer site is only what is actually available in your area. Particularly when there is a model year change--out going year model will only show what is already "boots on the ground" in your region based on zip. That said, there are different levels of advanced technology package "with options". Options being a hard tonneau cover or MTM. The RCTA & BSM are standarded with all advanced tech packages.

 

@tylerthompson21 just looked @ '22s in 98101 zip code. It's there...

Also remember: if you've got advanced tech it builds off of the basic tech package.

 

Advanced Technology package includes the Technology Package. You can get BSM, Cross Traffic, Parking with the Tech Package, the Advanced Tech Package adds the MTM and Panoramic cameras on top of that. In a nutshell you pay $600 for BSM, then add $1k to get the cameras too.

 

yeah I think since I didn’t see BSM listed in the advance tech option, I thought maybe it wasn’t included. It makes sense that it is added on top of the regular tech package. Either way looks like I can’t pick and choose from a deal right now anyways! It’s either no packages or the advanced tech form what I’ve seen.

 

I did the same thing as well. I know I had to refresh my memory at least three times when ordering my truck (ensuring Advance Tech include Tech).

 

Not sure if this has been asked but does the MTM package also come with the TRD Pro type grill? I have not seen a picture or video of a TRD Off Road with MTM that had the standard grill. This would be added incentive to pay the $1700.

 

My truck has it all: Advance Tech Package, MTM, Surround View Camera(s), Front Facing camera, BSM, RCTA, Backup Sonar, 4wd, Crawl Control, Leather, Sunroof and even the subwoofer in the back with the JBL stereo.
