Hey everyone! I don't usually post in here unless I need help, which is the case today.

My tacoma was hit in the parking lot while I was at work. Went and got some quotes, and all the shops are saying it would be about the same cost to get a new bumper, have it painted, and installed as would be to fix the damage.

With that said, does anyone on here know where I could just buy a pre-painted replacement oem bumper?

If there's no bodywork, then I don't really see a reason why I can't just disassemble the front bumper and put the new one on.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

    -Cody

FYI, the picture isn't great it's a lot worse in person. I tried touching it up too, but it looks like crap and to me is super noticeable.

I’ve looked in the past and finding a pre painted bumper that is cost effective has not been easy. Not to mention shipping. Alignment with aftermarket parts would be a concern if not going oem.

go on FB and look for mobile touch up painters. They’ll come to you and it will look perfect, but that’ll probably cost around $250. Not the most reputable bunch but I’ve had good experiences with mobile paint service

Someone hit my rear bumper cap and I touched it up with a rattle can. I think it matches well enough so I didn’t bother replacing it.

I just replaced my daughter’s Scion front bumper. She had chunks missing from hitting debris on the freeway. I bought a bumper on Amazon (came folded in a big box) and had a body shop paint it. The body shop wanted a piece of the damaged bumper to try to get the color to match. BTW, new bumper was after market and not OEM which had me nervous at first. Looks great and I am happy I went this route.

@Glaese I'll have to look into that one. Who have you used? I agree on everything you said, too. But I can't imagine it costing more than the quotes I got. The lowest was about $1400.

@rtzx9r unfortunately nothing local to me. Im in Oregon, and the closest to me is around 200 miles away in California.

@Captqc man, you did a phenomenal job! I'm gonna remember that for little touch ups, or parts. Unfortunately, im suck at painting, even rattle can, and would notice it everything I went to get in the truck.

@TA2016 would you mind posting the link to that bumper? That might be a good option. I don't normally like non-oem body parts, but it still might be a good option.

Here is a link to the Scion bumper I bought. Brand is FitParts.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091J5R18L?ie=UTF8

Looks like FitParts has Tacoma bumpers. I am not sure if this is the exact link you want, but it’s a good place to start as you are evaluating your options. I also like to stay with OEM but the price made it worth it for me to give it a try. Very happy with Scion bumper looks and fit.

One thing I will note is the bumper can get creased. I bought a FitParts one as well for my 2014 Mustang drift car. It came folded up as well but had a permanent crease in the middle of the grill and bumper even after using a heat gun. I still used it and the fit was good, however the usage case was definitely different and if it were my truck I would have returned it.

Yes that can happen. That was my worry too. I unfolded the Scion bumper and let it sit in a warm room for a couple of weeks before painting. Looks like it was shipped in its original shape. You make a good point for the OP to consider.

Just wanted to bump this question and toss out the idea of maybe an offroad front bumper, since you can find some good ones for similar pricing. Anyone know of any that replace the entire front bumper, and are more pull off the current bumper and just bolt the new one in?

I recently damaged my front bumper paint with the high pressure wand at the car wash. Now I'm torn between paying for fixing the paint or getting a Demello aluminum front bumper.

Unfortunately I’ve been down a similar road. Here’s my truck at 228 miles after it was hit by a DHL delivery truck while my truck was parked in front of my house.

luckily for me too it was just a replacement bumper and no major or even moderate damage to the truck. (After I got through the giant hassle of getting it fixed I had this viewpoint lol)

I went the getting a new OEM bumper and having it painted route through my insurance because DHL ghosted me. It ended up costing just my $500 deductible in the end. I think total damage was 3,200 which included replacing my front left headlight as well. If you need any help along the way just PM me!

    sorry OP!

All of your responses are pretty much in line what I'm thinking. Still haven't pulled the trigger, yet.
Did anyone look at the link I have above? The partify link. I'm curious on the quality &/or how real the site is.

Yeah its too big for touch up paint and honestly that stuff glops anyway. Just get some fill in primer, adhesion promotor, and the sand paper along with what I mentioned above and he'd be good to go. They sell the pretaped painters plastic too to block off the areas. Honestly if it was me though I would take off the whole bumper and respray it at once since its not going to blend perfectly and you want the panel breaks.
