Was curious if anyone has painted their own fender flares.
I have a 19 Quicksand and was looking at them the other day and don't look all that difficult to remove.

I am thinking I could give them a good sanding scuff, not remove all the paint, and hit it with several coats of a matte black automotive exterior paint. Probably the Rustolemum auto paint.

Go light on each coat... probably give it 10 coats and get progressively thicker as I go along.

Maybe a light wet sanding between coats after there is a good base.

I think there is also a matte clear coat that I could finish with.

Thoughts? Or any experience one could share to validate or kill my idea???

Type in "painted fender flares" in the search bar, plenty of people have repainted them. I need to do mine.

Use plastidip on them first to make sure you like the color change. When decided, the plastidip peels right off and you're good to go for permanent painting. Heck, you may even decide to keep it on since it's easier, cheaper, and easy to fix. Just and idea to consider.

Hows the durability over time with that?

    And cost.... if I may.

    Hell, those are wrapped?
Did you have to remove them?
    And what was the cost?

The durability mainly relies on what vinyl you go with and how well it is installed
