Hello everyone, my Tacoma has multiple scratches on both sides from off-roading, recently I tried to remove it using scratch removers, but to no avail. I tried several different brands of scratch removers and it barely worked. 80-90% of the scratches are still visible. I'm looking at 2 options to remove the scratches: Get a paint job or wrap the truck.

I was wondering if you guys can help me out which option I should pick. If you guys don't mind sharing your experience about it: How much will it cost? Which option would be durable in the long run? What to ask for/look for when talking to auto body shops?

Thanks, I look forward to your response.

I’m glad you posted this as I’m thinking of having my truck wrapped also and have been trying to find out if it would hold up to the vicious mesquites we have in this area. It’s easy to identifying the trucks that are used off road around here due to the number of “pinstripes”.

Wrap it! I’d go that way once my paint got bad enough. You can get some awesome stuff done on a wrap, and when you get tired of it or of it gets too beat up, peel it and get it re-wrapped!

Yeah, but at 99 cents a can it's easy to touch up.

What happens when you scratch a wrap? You have to rewrap that whole panel/section

Wraps are expensive. Paint jobs are expensive. Neither are scratch resistant so it will happen again unless you never go off road. Ever.

depending how bad your scratches are you might be surprised how much a good detail shop can get out. Might be worth taking her in to one and talking to them, could save you a pile of money

    Have you considered Plasti-dip?

You can get large cans when painting the truck, and rattle cans for touch ups if you scratch it. Won't solve gouges though.
