Scored a TRD Pro Skid Plate for my Tacoma and it arrives this Friday. My question to you all:

    1. Keep it stock aluminum with red letters?

    2. Paint it black with Rustoleum Truck Bed Spray Paint and go with some color matched tufskin inserts

My truck is Silver Sky Metallic

Yeah I like this more than the flat Matte Black. That red one above looks like kts gonna chip and flake the second I take it on the road lol.

I think I'm gonna pop the letters out, spray paint it and put the red back in

I like it, still think you should wait until you scratch the OEM one up first, but to each their own!

    All the things!
Bedliner and Tufskinz. I initially spray painted mine, and it got so chipped up from on-road use that it looked like hell. Even the bed liner will get ripped off when hitting the skid off-road, but at least on-road it holds up to debris.

    20181017_150857.jpg

Here was the paint job it had previously. I did this before Tufskinz was an option, so I had to paint and mask the TRD letters. Huge PITA!

My husband MADE me spray all of it with the rustoleum rust preventative product and then I spray painted it black. I colored the insides of the RCI cutouts neon orange to match my accent color.

You should bust his chops, because the skid plate is aluminum. No need for rust prevention.
