There seems to be a need for a list like this, so I researched all the paint books in the shop and compiled one.

On the bottom left corner of the sticker in your doorjamb that has the serial number is the paint code. It is always under the bar code. "C/TR" stands for Color/Trim. Color is the exterior color, trim is the interior color. Beside those codes are "A/TM", which are axle and transmission codes.

The sticker below is from a 2013 Sequoia, and is common in most other Toyotas:

As you can see, the code is still bottom left. Just the axle/trans codes have moved. (1D6 is Silver Sky Metallic, available on Sequioas, Siennas, and Tundras)

In the world of Toyota, the colors are grouped according to color family. All the whites start with 0, silvers start with 1, blacks start with 2, reds start with 3, etc. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what combination of characters the engineers use to name these codes. All automakers code their colors with some system that is unique to them, that seemingly makes no sense to anyone else!
So, here's what was, and is, available on 2nd gens.

    040 - Super White - 2005-13

    202 - Black - 2005-13.
-Limited availability 2008-12, Full availability 2013

    209 - Black Mica/Metallic - 2005-06.
-Renamed Black Sand Mica 2007. Renamed Black Sand Pearl 2008-09. Discontinued 2010

    1E7 - Silver Metallic - 2005-06.
    -Renamed Silver Streak Metallic 2007-13

    1G3 - Magnetic Gray Metallic - 2009-13

    3L5 - Radiant Red - 2005-08.
    -Reintroduced 2011. Discontinued 2012

    3P1 - Red Mica/Metallic - 2005-06.
-Renamed Impulse Red Metallic 2007. Renamed Impulse Red Pearl 2008. Discontinued 2009

    3R3 - Barcelona Red Pearl - 2009-13

    4Q2 - Beige Mica - 2005-06.
-Renamed Desert Sand Mica 2007. Renamed Desert Sand Pearl 2008. Discontinued 2009

    4T3 - Pyrite Pearl - 2009-13

    6T8 - Timberland Pearl - 2009-11. Discontinued 2012

    6V4 - Spruce Mica - 2012-13

    8P1 - Blue Metallic - 2005-06.
-Renamed Speedway Blue 2007-08. Renamed Speedway Blue Pearl 2009. Replaced by 8T7 for 2010 only (supplier problem?), back for 2011, discontinued 2012

    8P4 - Dark Blue Mica - 2006.
-Renamed Indigo Ink Mica 2007. Renamed Indigo Ink Pearl 2008. Discontinued 2009

    8S6 - Nautical Blue Pearl - 2012-13

8T7 - Blue Streak Pearl - 2010 only. Replaced Speedway Blue for this model year.

    Enjoy!

Nice list, but not fully correct.

8p4 was available in 2005 as indigo ink pearl...

I know, as there is one in my garage...

Edit to add...the color was always known as indigo ink pearl through out it's run from '05-'08...

Nautical Blue metallic is a similar color released in 2012 as code 8s6

I should have put a disclaimer at the bottom! This is the info my PPG books told me. There's always model year overlap with colors that are introduced... Nice catch, though!

I should also mention that automakers and paint suppliers seem to interchange "pearl" and "mica" freely. Pearl is actual crushed pearl. Mica is a color coated metallic, and metallics are ground aluminum of various sizes.

Some 'metallics' are actually plastic as well...

And the original mica comes from actual mica, the mineral

I was only able to find 1F7 at my local Autozone in the Duplicolor Perfect match paint. Anyone know if this is the same as the 1E7, or maybe a mislabeling?

From what I have been able to gather 040 Super White II is actually many similar but slightly different shades of white. That's one reason it's such a crapshoot getting a good match when buying a can of touchup paint off the shelf. The answer is to take our Super White trucks to an automotive paint retailer/wholsaler and have them match and mix. They can provide aerosol cans or paint for traditional spraying. The second problem with matching is the color is one of the very few single stage paints (no second stage clear coat) still in use by any auto manufacturer. Since that's the case don't apply a clear coat even if it says to do so on the can or website. It will change the color (generally to something slightly yellower) and the gloss resulting in an unsatisfactory match.

Steelhd, have you used any of the single stage 040 spray paints? I have a couple of spots that I'd like to touch up but I want to know what kind of finish they give without the clear. All the mfgs suggest clear even though the existing paint is single stage, and their other colors look matte before the clear.

Single stage paint was called paint. Its been many years but I sprayed hundreds of gallons of enamels, laquers, and urethanes. We didn't use clear coats on every job, especially with the enamels if I remember correctly, and they polished up and shined just fine.

Just stop by your local automotive paint dealer and see what they say. Am betting they will set you up with a can of properly matched paint and instructions on how to prep, apply, and polish it.

The only place near me willing to mix and fill a can is Sherwin Williams (the auto supply side) and the guy told me 1) I'd have to buy 3 cans (~$65) and 2) they mix based on the code, not the truck...so it wasn't going to be a match. Yes, he outright told me it wasn't going to match.

I guess my plan B should've been my plan A...prep/paint a piece of scrap metal and see what the finish looks like with/without clear.
