    Hey all,

I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma (2.7L). I am having some trouble with my air injection system and wanted to see if you guys might have a solution. The "timeline of events" is below.

    1. Check Engine Light comes on
    a. Throws code P2440
    i. Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open
    b. No impairment to drivability
    2. Replaced Air Injection Control Valve.
    a. Now throws code P2432
    i. Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow / Pressure Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1)
    3. Checked wiring connections – looked ok.
    4. Checked wires – looked ok
    5. Checked fuse – looked ok
    6. Checked Air Pump at cold start – was on but was barely pumping air.
    a. This was a "knockoff" pump I bought off of Amazon after the original pump died.
    7. Vacuum hose was working.
    8. Replaced Air Pump (knockoff)
    a. Now Air Pump nor vacuum hose works.

I've seen the Hewitt Tech bypass kits but after putting the time and money into new valve and pump I was hoping I could figure this out without dropping another chunk of change. According to Hewitt Tech site, I would have to buy Gen 2 kit and pressure sensor add on for this particular code ($600)

Anyone know why my air pump and vacuum hose wouldn't work?

    Thanks.

Perhaps the new knockoff Amazon secondary air pump is defective.

I was thinking the same thing.

I tested the old one as well (it was working but barely before I removed it) and it didn't work either.

I checked the air pump connection with a multimeter and it was getting a reading. Granted, I'm not very proficient with a multimeter so I can't tell you if the reading was correct.
