    Morning,

My check engine light and traction control off light came on this morning, 2017 trd off road Tacoma, 150k miles. I had the codes pulled, p107b. One site says faulty vvt sensor, but I can't really find anything definitive. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Service manual show this code as Fuel pressure (Low) sensor rational.

P107A/B is for the fuel rail pressure.
If it were a Highlander the fix was to throw a fuel pump at it.

Maybe @Bishop84 has seen enough to give you an idea.

OP, was your fuel pump ever replaced under the recall?

Good place to start. My 2017 October build is on the list.

No my truck was not included in the recall. I did talk to a service tech at the Toyota dealership and fuel pump is what he said. I imagine I would have some performance issues? I ask because I do not have any, everything is running fine. I did notice an intermittent buzzing noise coming from the rear of the engine, behind the intake manifold. I have not heard that before, sounds like a mechanical part failing to engage or activate.

Which service manual are you referring to?

    Toyota calls that code P107A2A
If you are looking for it online somewhere.
SAE codes is 107B, but service info is under P107A2A

It just came on this morning, in looking into the p107a2a code, seems like replacing the fuel pump or checking the fuel rail. Earlier today I heard the buzzing, in the area of the fuel rail. Work tomorrow so I won't be able to mess with it for a bit. Appreciate your guys comments and help!

Are you able to reset the code? If comes back, then definitely need some attention.

Yeah I reset it, drove to work, then on the way back it came on again. I'm at 152k miles and haven't done the more advanced maintenance yet, so maybe it's time. Fuel pump, spark plugs, fan belt, I'm sure even my timing belt.

It’s a timing chain. You don’t need to change it. You change it when you have a problem.

Did you notice if the light comes on when you have a foot off the accelerator?
also take a pick at the fuel pump control unit on the passenger side of the frame for any abnormalities. Also check the low pressure sensor under the hood.
Unfortunately there are a few components to check to properly diagnose the issue and need some diag tools with functions. Most likely need to take it in.

So I went ahead and replaced my spark plugs, the CEL has not come back on yet. I went with oem denso's. I started at the top as far as maintenance schedule goes with troubleshooting, tried the easiest and cheapest thing.

Thanks! I wouldn't want to leave the next guy who was too busy/strapped for cash to change his spark plugs hanging

The fix and the code don't make sense unless during the change something got bumped
