    WTF

So 2001 TRD super charged V6 Auto trans

I have been getting the P0770 Code, Lock up solenoid.
I was able to get the money together and go the kit with a lock up solenoid and two shift solenoid, filter and gasket. 4 qts of toyota ATF, Also got new plugs and wires.

    IMAG1692_zpsggebcoh7_e4b398fee4ac152e2db7c0a6b3292347251c008a.jpg

Everthing was clean in the trans or the pan, no metal nothing

Wow my truck runs great!!:burnrubber: pulls hard, idles smooth shifts smooth and everything feels like a new truck. 50 miles later the Check engine light comes on :annoyed: Same effin code, WTF do I do now.

I have read a few places that one of the fixes might be the coolant temp sensor on the back of the block?

I am not sure what else to do to fix it . I cant pass stupid Califonia smog with the check engine light, but the truck run perfect.

Any info or help would be great.

sounds like the torque converter lock up clutch is your issue. also could be a clogged valve body. the test for the solenoid is to apply compressed air into it and see if it leaks air. the other is to apply battery voltage to the solenoid to see if it opens. new parts can be bad too. then if all is good there check valve body for blockage. it that is fine then new torque converter is needed.

Driving the truck home lastnight I had the OD off. no check eng light.

As soon as I turned the OD on. The check eng light came on.

Gonna do the coolant temp sen this weekend.

    Question

To take out the valve body. Can the trans be in the tuck?

Or do i need to take the trans out and set it up side down.

I dont want a bunch of shit falling out if I have to remove the valve body. I'm going to try replaceing the speed sensor and coolant temp sensor first, and go from there.

you can do it in the truck pieces may fall out tho. you can use trans assembly lube to put them back in there holes to keep them there when you put the valve body back in.

I did the driving thing several times this weekend.

The only thing left to do is take out the valve body but i'm just worried about all of the crap that going to fall out of the trans when I do.

    No
I sold the truck. at 200K miles supercharged I was done messing with it. The trans was going out as well as the Torque converter.
I bought a Tundra More room more power. Best truck I've ever owned ...

This is a major clue because this also happened in my case. I barely touched the button and immediately turned it off but shortly afterwards the damn CEL came on.
