p0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow (EGR) Excessive Detect - 99 Prerunner 2.7L HELP!

    I have a 99 toyota Tacoma prerunner 2.7L with the code p0402 excessive Egr flow and I've had it for about a year now and I've replaced everything that has to deal with the Egr ; Egr valve,Egr valve vacuum modulater, Egr valve gaskets, VSV , Egr temp sensor, catalytic converter, PVC , PVC gormet, seafoam in gas, seafoam in brake booster and all vacuum ports please help can not get inspected until this code is gone...Any questions just ask

    Had this exact same issue with mine. same year and engine. There is a vacuum switch that goes bad. Where the intake curves over the valve cover on the driver side. its inside the little "cave" it leaves. Had to get a switch from the stealership but it fixed the issue right away. It tells the egr to activate when its not needed and that's why it throws the code. If you need I can get a couple pics and post them so you can see where it is. Was a 10 minute fix once I had the switch.

    Make sure to tell them you need the egr vacuum solenoid switch. There are a couple of them under the hood. They operate at different pressures and do different things. Hope this solves your problem!!

    Bilsteins, OME 881's, 3-leaf AAL, Detroit TruTrac, Tundra brake swap, Michelin LTX AT2, Tranny skidplate, TC skidplate, CBI rear bumper, TG sliders, UltraGauge, PowerTank, Reverse Camera
    Double-check the vacuum line connections. Maybe a couple got switched around, or one is split open.
