OVS 270 LT vs Rhino batwing

I've done a bunch of research on here but trying to get some final opinions from the TW brain trust. Primarily will be used for camping and hunting. If I could get my hands on them or see them it would help my decision but haven't been able to find any local.

Anyone willing to throw in their $0.02 on their experiences with either?

Ended up going that same route. Really liked that the OVS seems to have much stronger arms on it and is more free standing.

No it's backordered for like 4-6 weeks from campsaver so I'll get it in July probably. 20% off was worth the wait.

I have the batwing an it's pretty nice. Fairly easy to take out and out away......besides it's all veiny and alive like a batwing.

 

I just ordered the OVS 270 and I have a buddy who's getting the Batwing so I'll report back once we start using them.

 

CampSaver sent an email letting me know its shipped via frieght and I now have $63 in CS $ to spend by end of Aug.

 

New email said not shipping til at least June 30th.

 

They did the same thing to me......

 

I have a batwing, used a handful of times. Takes about 2-3 minutes to set up solo. About the same time to clean up. One of the easier awnings I've had to deal with. Haven't dealt with wind heavy usage, but it seems like a quality product.

 

Just got an update.... Mine is shipping today

 

Campsaver had mine listed as shipping on 6/18. I called them and it's drop shipping from the mfg and probably not really shipping until mid to late July unfortunately.....

 

Campsaver said it showed shipping from manufacturer today and manufacturer would update me later today when the carrier picked it up.
So, we'll see what happens.

I went with the ovs 270 LT. It’s about 19 pounds lighter than the regular 270 and a little faster to set up. I ordered mine from Lowe’s and received it in about 1 week from the time of ordering. Still waiting on my super pacific camper though…

 

Did you get driver side or passenger side?

 

I went with the passenger side. I chose passenger to hopefully distribute weight throughout the truck better, if I need to open it up parking off the side of a road and if I need to dry it out in my driveway. Passenger seems like it would work best for me.
