Installing 6112/5160 with HS 3 leaf pack on a 17 dc or 4x4. Question is do I leave the overload in or out? What’s the ride quality differences? Trying to stay level, but rather have smalll factory rake then bro lean.

    Any advice? Thanks

I just installed close set up with 6112 in 6/5 notch with icon AAL 3 leaf progressive with overload removed and I’m completely level.

Just installed the same thing except bilstein 5100s with ome 887 in front... pretty close to level and the ride has been wonderful on and Offroad already ... I left my overload spring off because I only wanted 1.5” in the rear

Leave it in if you haul or tow.

Toyota states it’s a 10% reduction in payload without the overload leaf.

Rake/level/etc.. that changes from truck to truck. Nobody gets the exact same results when using the same parts.

I have the same lift, with icon aal my rear was a 1/4" lower without the overload. The ride quality was a big upgrade from stock off-road suspension, I hooked a 6x12 uhaul trailer and it damn near flattened my leafs. Threw my overloads back in today and the ride is still great.

Same setup on my truck, I ran without overload for the first 2 years, recently put the overload back in as well as the timbren u bolt flip kit and bump stops. The overload only gains you the thickness of the leaf for lift ....1/2 inch, the ride is a bit stiffer as well which is why I put it back in. Slight rake.

Is there a huge ride quality difference?

Over load doesn't really change ride quality, but it can technically add to axle wrap by adding more space and leverage against the spring. I'd use the overload personally, more benefits than negatives.

Depends on the color of the Yaris we are talking about here.

I had a silver one and let me tell you . That was a killer commuter. I've been in restoration and a dealer tech for 21 years and the build quality/ gaps /straightness of the sheet metal was phenomenal. It has reverse embossed stamped handle spots (not a waver in the reflection) and I've never seen a budget car built better . I'm not dogging it . For its purpose it was dead on . Way better commuters deal than the Prius at the time (2009) and let's face it nobody holds on to something like that . I got the 4 door hatch and limo tinted the windows and rolled out . I remember walking into the dealer and told them I wanted the cheapest piece they had . Very surprising. Commuted in it for 3 years when gas was high and sold it for a little less than 3 grand from what I spent . All the tacomas have more flaws 1st 2nd and 3rd they are trucks though . Unfortunately this is the only picture I have lol . It's to the right of my old e30 project.

I agree with the flaws in the taco. I had a 2nd gen and it had its here and there issues, but damn this 3rd gen has been a headache. I think mine was built on a Monday right after quinceñera. That’s the only logical thing I can think is wrong with my truck.

Love mine more than my old 2nd gen 4x4 or my old 81 swb 4x4. 65k on the clicker and been all over the US . But yes there's flaws . Not a truck that doesn't.

If you use your bed, yes there is a huge difference. As others said, leave it in.

Is the overload only 1/2"? It looked closer to 5/8 at glance but I can't really accurately measure it with the pack assembled
