Soldered it like in the video and it still doesn’t turn on. Any ideas as to what else it could be? The dome lights next to it turn on.

I had to solder the original one in my truck twice. It worked for a couple of years or so before having solder it again. The third time it quit working and before another solder job, I noticed if I added pressure to the circut board it would work. That's when I decided to get the new and improved one. That was 9 years ago and it's been trouble free.

Pretty sure the new one doesn't get so hot to melt any solder or contact points.

Do you remember what "new" one you got? OEM or aftermarket? Thanks

I bought it off ebay from Daytona Toyota for around $80 (free shipping), and it was a Toyota orginal part.

There was also another option (ebay seller) that I considered where you buy a remanufactered one and send your old one in. Seems like that was around $25.

Got a replacement from Toyota and it still doesn't work. Any ideas of what else it could be. I checked the fuses but didn't see any that were out, so I kind of ruled that out. Could it be an issue with the actual harness that it connects to?

Do you have power on Pin 1 (Light Green) and ground on Pin 2 (White/Black) with the key on?

I know it's been a while since I posted on this issue. Doing other things to the truck took precedent over this one. @inwood customs how would I know which was the right part? This is the one that I ordered and everything fit correctly. @Dm93 going to take your advice and check for power this weekend.

I would call the dealership and ask for part number for your truck

I'd check the harness based on input from @Dm93 and it everything was fine there. @inwood customs was right the part I got before was the wrong one even though the part number was correct. Not sure what happened there. Went to the dealer and got a new one with the same part number and it worked. It works fine it's just the angle I took the picture at. Thanks for the help @Dm93 and @inwood customs.
