Did you modify that rubber bed liner to fit your 1st gen?

Hahaha great eye sight and yes. Had a 2017 Tacoma and sold it for the tundra than bought my 1st gen. The rubber Matt almost fit but required very light cutting to fit

27mm. It was a hard wrench to find for me at least. The long handle set at Harbor Freight goes up to 26mm, the jumbo set only goes down to 35mm. The service wrenches have a 27mm, but it's probably too short for that job. I ended up buying a 27mm Husky wrench at Home Depot.

Your real issue might be holding the tie rod end enough to be able to torque on that nut. If you don't have a vise it might be worth finding someone that does.

Just buy new from Toyota. low Range Off-road had them too. It’s basically a consumable if you are hitting it that hard at this point

I bought that liner and saw that it was tight near the wheel arches. I didn't want to modify it so i ended up selling it. I thought maybe you got one that didn't need modification.

If you don't have a vise, put a pipe wrench on the straight part of the OTR while you turn the 27mm nut. Use penetrating oil. You may have to turn the nut ever-so-slightly in the "out" direction and then tighten it again a few times to get the rust to loosen up. Again, use plenty of penetration oil (or ATF as one of the other guys here suggested). Patience here will save you $50 plus shipping for a new OTR.

This is not correct. OEM does come with a castle nut and cotter pin, but not a jam nut. The 555s from TrailGear/Wheelers/LowRange also do not come with a jam nut.

As previously stated. Mine have always come with new hardware. Try Napa.

6”rough country lift, 35” bfg mud terrain, step bars, home made solid 5" bull bar frame mounted top and bottom with gussets ( used an excavator to completely suspend the truck in the air held only by the bull bar), 180k, no rust, no leaks, no cel's, no issues. 4wd conversion with front and rear e-lockers.
I got outer and inner and came with castle. Codder, thrust washer and a thick jam nut and a thin jam nut.. i think theyre both jam nuts .. not sure though because the ball that goes into the knuckle didnt have anything between tge boot and knuckle so when i tried to tighten the castle nut on i couldnt get it past hand tight without pancaking the damn boot. Got dark and mosquito blood suckers got too thick so i had to quit for the night.. went all kinds of wrong. Old outer came off with 14 turns. New one goes on with 14 and thing is pointed towards the other tire.. so between that and the castle nut thing i know i screwed it up.. parts were exactly the same size and thing so i dunno why it went on like it did. And not sure why the inner came with what looks to be a jam nut and outer came with one also..
