Original wheel was either 31x10.50R15 or 265/70R16. Might look a little odd with the lift and such a small tire.

Should tell you the orig wheel size on the driver side door sticker.

Yes, you can go back to original size without removing the lift. Most people lift to fit bigger tires, so if you’re going back to stock, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Only issue is if they have 16” or bigger wheels and they did the tundra brake upgrade. If it has those brake calipers, you can’t fit 15” rims.

I'll get some and post tomorrow. Local tire shop couldnt tell me size of rims on truck. Don't want to get new tires if rims are wrong.

The tire shop couldn’t read the size that’s printed on your tires???

Holly shit, don’t go back there!

Rim size should be on the rim somewhere. It's either 15x7 or 16x7.
    That's what I was thinking.

That’s not a flip comment — it’s serious advice. Run, don’t walk, from that place.

Yes, this needs repeating. I was dead serious.

No different than if you take your car to a shop, and they can’t tell you what kind of car you have. Or your computer to a computer replair shop and they don’t know what kind it is.

My thoughts, too. Super small town, not a lot of options...but it sure seemed odd they couldn't determine rim size.

A '97 came with 15s, most likely a 15x7. Metric sized tires were not introduced on 1st gens until the '01 model year.

And you can't always rely on the sticker for rubber size. Mine says 215/70r16 which is not what it came with.

OP, on that same sticker that everyone is telling you to look at, it will also list a diff code. For example, BO3A. The original gear ratio can be established from that code and that will tell you more about the stock tire size.

I was going to say that too. But I also assumed they couldn't tell him the OE sizes (not the ones on vehicle) because door stickers usually only state tire size and wheel diameter, not the wheel width, right?

Till I saw his profile says he has a 4wd racoma.

That model didn't have door stickers.
