With the seat removed, this fridge is able to open up with plenty of room to see inside and grab what you need. That said, the lid doesn't open up completely. To keep then fridge on the seat, for this size, wouldn't give you much room at all to open it. ARB does make a smaller size (and a larger size that isn't as tall) that might work better. The other problem in that case would be how to keep it stable when driving and how to keep it from flying around the cab in a crash.

Seat works... But platform is much better. I put some rope on the ceiling handle to hold the lid open.

Do you have to have a dual battery set up if you have a fridge?

you don't HAVE to... but a deep cycle will be your friend if you only have one battery. Anyhow, if you have your rig off, and don't have a direct 12v connection between fridge and battery, you'd only be running the fridge while the vehicle is running, and you'd be fine. Your fridge contents might not be, however.

No. That being said it isn't a bad idea.

I once ran my fridge off my stock battery for 4 days (~96hrs) accidentally and the truck started just fine.

I would love a fridge and a Solar setup for my truck. Shop close to me that deals with old imported land cruiser stuff has it in theirs and it’s legit

Damn, I would say that would surely kill your battery. Just thinking about a fridge, and in my mind, it would seem that they would take a lot of juice to run 'em, but this might say otherwise?
I assume they have a rating on how much power they use.

This would be the ideal set up.

I love the idea of a fridge because....f**k ice. Added this to my build list (along with another 10 items probably), awhile ago. I just want a fridge to fit under my extang Xceed tonneau... don't really like the backseat shelf set up, since I haul ass sometimes. ...4 doors.... more.. well, you know. Things could change.

So far my 3 favorite mods I have done are the fridge (always hated having water logged food at the end of a camping trip), OBA, and the DMM.

The fridge also has a built in voltage detector that will automatically shut off the fridge to prevent it from draining your battery. My fridge was still running after 4 days so these things don't use much power. The more you have stuffed in the fridge the more efficient it will be too.

Yea it really is ideal since he even had an App that would tell him how much power the solar was charging and how much power the fridge was using also
