    Hi there, this is my first post, thanks for letting me be a part of this forum. I have had a 2006 Off-Road that I'm ready to trade in and get a new 2018. In Toyota's website configurator, where you can "build" a vehicle, there is an interior view where it shows the all black interior but there is a splash of reddish-orange material that surrounds the instrument cluster and touchscreen. The dealership I'm talking with said that's some sort of "special" interior and he hadn't seen or heard of very many around here in New England. Any other info you folks could provide about this? I kind of like the look of what I saw online, just as a splash of color to break up the mostly black interior. If I'm not able to find one from the factory, is this a part that could be bought separately and (hopefully easily) replace the stock black piece? Thanks in advance!

    The black/orange interior comes with the orange trim (and orange stitching on the seats). Unless something changed in 2018, there is nothing "special" about it, and it's super common. lol

    I have it on mine and love it.

    Thanks. In the Toyota online configurator, I did select the all-black leather seats option. Are you talking about the fabric seats with the orange stitching? Also, could you tell me more about where you bought that TRD Pro-style front grille? It looks awesome.

    Correct, the cloth seats have the orange stitching. I have no clue on the new leather seats.

    As for the grill, I just bought it at the dealership.

    Not sure what option gets you that. The piece around that radio just pulls off without tools and I think the piece to the left does also. Some members have removed and painted, but I would think you could swap those pieces out if you wanted.

    If you need another dash surround to swap around -- I have this one for sale here. Don't worry the "assembly" (the only way you can order the part) comes apart easily when you have it removed from the dash. The removal is also easy.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/gen-3-center-dash-panel-pn-55405-04120-c5.527106/

    The surround piece is the same size on all models --the difference is that the radio opening is different for the two different sizes of radios.
    Buying this part from most any dealer will cost you $200.00 +

    Thanks, I will be getting the Premium/JBL audio option though, so maybe won't fit well then as you mentioned in that link? Also, if this is the "center" piece, is there a separate one that wraps around
    the gauge/instrument cluster?

    No! you can only buy the whole assy new from the dealers, that is unless you get lucky and find a used one in a salvage yard. The other thing to remember is that the dash part for the smaller radio is a 6" , and it will fit many aftermarket radios that use the 6" double din standard.
    I may be persuaded to piece/part out my assembly for the right money.
    Reason I have this is that I swapped out my factory 6" radio for the factory "premium" 7" model. I needed the larger opening and did not want to hack my dash up.
    Here is a diagram -- so you can see the entire range of parts --note there is 8 different separate dash panel types/colors:

    So, how can a person know for sure that they are NOT going to get an orange dash trim on a Taco that they are ordering as a build?

    The leather interior on the sports and off roads come in two colors.

    the interior color code will tell you what you are getting.

    21 = black/orange
    27 = black pkg/gun metal
