    Basically there are two independent Toyota distributors. Gulf States Toyota (TX, OK, LA, AK, MS) and South East Toyota (FL, GA, AL, NC, SC). I'm not sure how much independence they get as the distributor. They are in charge of supplying dealers, advertising, and apparently they can create their own port-add-on packages. All the other states are served by Toyota's own distribution network and will stick to the company line. but that's how you end up with shit like the Texas edition tacoma, and that TSS package. And also apparently this bullshit package.

    How there came to be two independent distributors serving 10 states while the other 40 are toyota direct is kind of an interesting backstory. http://www.autonews.com/article/200...e-toyota-a-toehold-in-a-mysterious-new-market
