After much thinking I decided to install an Optima Yellowtop battery. This allows me to use the battery as a power source in camp without wrecking a regular start only battery.

When I saw the Brach Design billet tray for the DH7 I was sold. As for the higher charging voltage, for now I'm going to see if my Cascadia solar panel with an AGM controller will keep it charged enough. If not I'll figure out a plan B.

I used M10 rivnuts with backing washers, to increase the pullout force required. The trickiest part was match drilling the holes so the countersunk screws would line up. With the M10s I'm 100% sure that battery is not going to come loose.97D1D13E-2F79-4D0C-9CF6-28F5E1E2FA31.jpg 787961F0-77A7-4ACE-AD8B-3EEFA0C5C1B7.jpg 1F3AA5DD-A036-48A1-BF89-0CC0E1168945.jpg ABCAB34B-8873-4085-BB85-9DFAB3E5B608.jpg
Bonus, the terminals are on the original sides.
