I currently have a Xentec HID kit, but it seems like they’re dying out as they aren’t as bright. Want to replace it with something better, but not go crazy on price. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with OPT7 or Kensun? Or any other HID Kits under ~$100 would be nice!
    Thanks in advance!

I have run opt-7 in all my vehicles. I love them. I usually go with the mid-range option for them though. I think it is bolt. I have only ever had one issue- a bad ballast right out of the box. Their customer service was really good and had me a replacement part within a few days. I have run them for several years without issue.

Just make sure you get a harness. Usually called something like an anti-flicker harness. It will protect your electrical system and stop any flickering as well. It is like $5 from opt7.

They are $40 though? Are they better than the $80 OPT7? Just curious not trying to bash whatsoever! I really appreciate the insight. Xentec has either the ballast go out frequently or the bulbs do.

I have used kensun hid kits in all my last few vehicles(like 5 years worth) , and had minimal issues, if I did have any issues(had bulb go out,and a ballast go bad) all I did was contact kensun and they sent replacements out immediately, they have 2 year warranty. I also use their leds in my high beams and probably will in my dogs when I install the kit in my SR.

I put opt7 in mine in July of 2016, knock on wood, I have had zero issues and they are as bright today as when I put them in.

Would a 55w from OPT7 be the same brightness as a 55w from Kensun?
