One day I noticed my rear passenger side tire with low pressure. I filled it up and it slowly loses air pressure.

I just took my car in for 5k maintenance on 4/17. Dealer filled the tire pressure to 35 PSI all around. Within 2 days my front passenger tire lost 6 psi. The dealer must have rotated the tire to the front.

My question is, will toyota fix or replace my tire? Should I take it back to the dealer for maintenance?

    Why would they replace it?

you have 5k miles on the truck?

Yes you should definitely take it back to the dealership and have it replaced free of charge. Unless you changed out your tires after buying the truck, and these aren't stock rubber.

You may also want to switch the tire with another one to make sure it follows the wheel and isn't an issue with the TPMS system...though that might be excessive. Sometimes the simplest answer is best.

The only scenario they won't replace it is if you punctured it. But if it's intact...it's defective.

depends by dealer by dealer. some dealers have lifetime tire rotation and repair services. some do not. I would call them.

It is probably a small piece of sharp metal like a nail thats pierced through the tread. if it is near the shoulder of the tire, you may be out of luck.

Tire shops / dealership services are doing the plug and patch combo repair to patch up tires now. They are more reliable than the older method of just plugging or just patching it. You should ask if they do the plug and patch combo as well.

Fix your leaking tire, that’s not the responsibility of the dealership

Or take it to a tire shop and have them fix the Leak for free

Or you could have run over a nail or hundreds of other things on the road. I'd just take it to a tire shop for a plug/patch for $25 and be done with it.

    Yup! Love driving this thing.

These are the stock tires. Have not replaced them or anything.

Also, down the road if you buy another set of tires from a shop, they usually have free tire rotations and free repair services as long as you buy from them. They will patch/plug your tire for free but then you would have to pay for them to rebalance your tire which is usually around $5

The truck is 4 months old. If warranty will cover it, why would I spend the money?

Thanks I will look into that. My hope was that the dealer would cover it, but it seems like a maybe from the comments. I will call them.

if the factory tire is truly defective than it might be under the factory warranty. (not too sure). But i think your chances of having a small puncture is more likely which i am pretty sure is not under any tire makers warranty. That is just life & bad luck

This is why we get mocked by the 1st and 2nd gen owners.

I would also buy and order a basic car tire inflator so you can safely make it to the repair shop with an acceptable PSI on the road driving. Just good to have in a jiffy for a time like this
