Found a good deal on a Viair On Board Air system on Amazon...but it has a decent size air tank.

If you have an air tank, where did you mount yours??

I have two 6" diameter x about 15" long tanks mounted inside the frame on the passenger side. Had to weld a bolt on the tanks to tighten to pull it in to the frame. Have used these on an 06 and now a 2015.

Please note that I didn’t post this in our local regional thread cause I was hoping to get intelligent responses.

Ok there firecracker. Put it where the spare tire mounts if you don't wheel, put it in the bed if you do wheel.

So I don't wheel as much as most, but I'm planning to change that as the truck gets older. This was actually where I was planning on putting a tank. I was hoping to get a full-size spare mounted on a bumper or tailgate to clear the space underneath.

Why do you say don't mount it underneath if you wheel?

that viair relay pressure switch thing is crap as well. if you want to run something like that id suggest just buying a small pressure switch that ties into the relay coil for turning on/off the compressor

I guess it depends on where you wheel and how hard you wheel but it's just a puncture risk. I've seen folks scrape their spare up pretty good on the way to hanging their diff. Obviously an air tank is more sturdy than rubber, but I'm not interested in testing how much so

People also mount stuff under the drivers side bed cubby. Not sure how big your tank is, or how much it weighs though

Good to know!!! When it craps out...does it just keep the compressor running until the relief valve activates?
Just wondering what to look for if it does fail.

im just suggesting going a better route and avoid installing it all together. its bulky and looks like shit. buy a cheap pressure switch. i dont even use one tbh

Tank and pump are mounted in the bed and can be disconnected and removed. The box is mounted using t bolts in the bed rail. Pressure switch and QD connector for air hose is in the tool box side door of the cap right above the pump/tank combo
