Oil leaking from top of the engine

I have oil leaking from the top of the engine at 90,000 miles, anybody know what it is?

It's a 3rd gen 2021 Tacoma 4 cylinder

 

clean with brake kleen and monitor

 

Pull the intake resonator and check. Could be one of the valve cover hold-down bolts with rubber washers, leaking PCV line, or less likely a spark plug tube seal.

 

Okay sounds good you don't think it's coming from one these bolts or sensor?

 

Clean and observe.

Brake cleaner DOES NOT belong on anything made of plastic or polymer, it will render it brittle.
The valve covers on 2tr-fe 2.7 are plastic. Do not use brake clean on it.

Looks like VVT-i solenoid is leaking (that cylindrical thing)..there's an o ring in there that tends to go bad, cheap and easy fix.

thats what a garage will do......that valve cover is thicker than metal
if your scared then wash it at a pressure car wash

thanks thats good too if one is scared of using a chemical degreaser.......but the dawn must be the scented

 

I can't stand the scented soaps, blue dawn only imo.

 

Dawn makes a purple degreaser too, but I've never used it.

 

I use simple green cuz I can drink it

 

90% rubbing alcohol will degrease the surface and not damage plastics.
