OK... So my wife now drives a Toyota, too. I've looked and found that her engine calls for Toyota oil filter 90915-YZZD1. I have a case of the 90915-YZZD3 filters for my engine.

Does anybody know if these are interchangable? Isn't the D3 just a taller filter than the D1, but with the same circumference? (i.e. they should fit/seal without a problem.)

I could just man-up and buy a case of the D1s, but if I can use what I already have I'd be happier. I'm just looking forward to the fact that I can buy 5w-30 oil in bulk now that she's not driving a car that calls for 0w-40 "European Formula" crap.

i say as long as the threads fit its ok. cause some people don't even run filters so i dont see any thing wrong with running them

I did a little searching and it looks like the D1 is for the 4-cyl and the D3 is for the 6-cyl. I'm betting that the D3 will work just fine on my wife's car. If anybody thinks I'm about to blow my wife's car up, lemme know!

Also... who in the heck goes w/o an oil filter. I want proof. (Proof = names and pictures)
