Thought I would share this mess preventing hack. Apologies if it’s been put out before but been on the road since May and a little bored.

Over the last 6 months I’ve traveled a lot. So much that my 11 month old SR5 is now out of warranty. I bough it new.

I’ve had to change my own oil in literally the middle of nowhere a few times in the last 6 months. I usually carry a new oil change container and just seal it up and drop it at an auto parts place the next time I’m near one.

I like leaving a place as good or better than I found it so no oil spilled anywhere is my motto. I have a German Stahlbus drain valve installed on the pan drain but I hate the damn filter canister drain.

At home I use doubled up shopping bags and just take it off that way but in the wild needed something cleaner.

Fram makes a filter , pics below, that has a drain spigot that threads in versus snapping in. It only opens the drain after being threaded in halfway. No mess. None. No getting the clip in one halfway in and getting a rush of oil.

Add a length of 1/2 ID hose if needed and good to go.

I won’t use the Fram filter as it has significantly less filter area but the screw in spigot was worth the price.

Mines better. I can drive it every day, bounce off the rev limiter leaving every light, and don't need to worry about tickets.

$70 is also 2-3 hard runs worth of gas on tail of the dragon...

It’s more fun on 2 wheels.

I don't trust my fellow man that much.

If I did, I would have 2 Grom's in my garage. One stock, and one turbo'ed with an extended swingarm, and other goodies...
