This is it. The end of times, and the end of Toyota. We heard it from the people who switched to F150s and Raptors first, then the Nissans, then it started from within our own, fellow 2nd and 3rd gen owners:

Toyota will never correct the powertrain issues and has fallen downhill and lost the trust of the American consumer. They will never take responsibility for issues with their automobiles and will just push customers with trouble off the wagon.

    Oh wait.

edit: after seeing the VIN list, anybody wanna buy mine?:rofl:

This seems to be saying that nearly every 2024 COULD be impacted. Over 40k in multiple VIN ranges, plus the others. That’s if I’m reading this correctly.

If it’s the debris issue again, how would they really know which VINs were truly affected? It’s crazy to think they didn’t learn from the Tundra experience.

Toyota just throwing meaty bones to the YouTube doomsayers. Only this time they were right.

If this were the CyberTruck forums, it would be "Well, transmission left me stranded in the desert. Knew I was driving a ticking timebomb, but hoped not. Currently drinking my own urine to survive. Have 3% left on my phone and saved it for this. STILL LOVE THIS TRUCK, GUYS."

Also anyone else notice that there are MT VINs listed?

It's good that your vin is on the list, if it's a widespread issue; this means you're covered.

Am I correct in thinking that if the last 6 digits of my VIN is higher than the one one you attached, I should be good to go?

What would be good to know is if folks have issues and are NOT on the list.

I assume if your truck is not on the list Toyota has fixed the issue by then.

My truck starts with 3TYLF5… does anyone know what the LF means? It’s not on the list. Trying to discern if hybrids are not included.

Yes, the VINs listed are the numbers where the change went in to effect. So anything lower and you have the possibility of having this issue.

I'm also hoping this TSB investigation is the reason for the 4Runner production delay (historically, once finding an issue like this, Toyota is supposed to stop all new production until it is fixed).
