Too much to name for this little space
Haven't seen much in the way of getting an exhaust system for off roading so figured I'd ask.

A friend recommended a dump axle exhaust for clearance but I haven't rerouted the exhaust yet. So I think I'll grab the well-known https://www.extremeterrain.com/mbrp...OfI34fXhsYOO5-QmNpBoCKagQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Although I don't want to buy an entire exhaust just for a shop to cut it. Should I just get the muffler and have the shop cut the rest or get the full system and have the shop reroute.

Or if anyone has better exhaust options for offroad use because this is the only option I've found for sound and clearance.

a lot of heads here just chop off the tail pipe like this one picture below...

there is also the exhaust reroute modification that many here do as well, pictured below...

I have the MBRP, but over the axle. I cut it off there. I didn't want the turn down before the axle (just personal preference). If that's all you want, have a muffler shop replace the muffler with something else, and put a turn down on it.

I’ve got a high clearance rear on the way so have been thinking about doing this. Do you see any issues with fumes getting into truck bed with camper shell? I just worry about the dog riding back there.

i personally have not done this, for peace of mind I kept my exhaust the way it came, but yea in theory it very well can be a potential issue... though many many many people here have been riding like that for many many many miles...

I have seen some actually have a tail pipe clamped on there so you can easily remove it for the trails whenever you want/need the extra clearance

Going down the road...no. Sitting and idling...maybe. If the shell has windows and they are open, should be fine.

i just cut and used the stock bends to point it in a different direction, higher. retained all hangers.
might be a little different on stock suspension though

AFE Y-pipe, 2.5 inch catback CAI 3 inch Dobinson's lift
    Hi everyone!

I have installed the AFE catted Y-pipe and as if I didn't know, lol, life is never without problems. This was a quality y-pipe but on occasion, I am hearing a knocking sound from the drivers side. I believe this to be either a leak or a bad cat. I will probably call AFE and see if they will send me a replacement. Has anyone got ay opinions as to the noise? It seems worse at startup and then once in awhile when hot. It sounds like a loose nut rattling around instead the cat. I am wondering what everyone thinks and whether the reroute itself is causing the noise. When I removed that silly Toyota y-pipe it was interesting to say the least. Does the simple reroute cause the noise especially with a motor that makes all kinds of crazy noises to begin with. I just wish it was a diesel rather than just sounding like one. PS, I used those crush gaskets instead of actual flange gaskets that I have always used. In other words just like the factory crush gaskets. Thanks everyone!

No issues I have a camper dumped the exhaust in the same spot. You will be glad you did.
