I'm sure it wipes off some of the oxidation but it won't last. Damn sure don't spray it on directly like he did if you care about your paint and trim.

It takes a good bit of time to sand, polish to get a good restore on headlights. If the ingredient in the bug spray worked every detailing line would have it as a ready to use product. The real issue with headlights is getting them protected from the sun because you've sanded away all your dead clear coat to getting them restored. The detailing companies don't have this worked out yet as a long term solution. You need to respray with clear coat or apply PPF if you want it to hold up more than a year. Otherwise keep applying something every few months.

Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true. I'd classify this one with all of the other "miracle instant cures" that I've seen over the years. Although it might temporarily look better, it's not a true fix. It probably will prevent mosquito bites on your headlight lenses though.

it'll clear up the headlight for a day or two but the fog will come back and it'll be even worse. every car lifehack on tiktok is a lie

basically it melts the outermost layer off of the headlight
