Umm half my clothes, shoes.. some Milwaukee and Rigid power tools, both of which I have tons of that have stood up to tons of abuse. Some of my Vortex scopes are made in China, my Bushnell night vision is made in China. Lots of things are. Yeah if or when you can, buy American. Some things just have too large of a mark up and this is just to state that there are good things made in china. There is also tons of shit made in and out of China.

I would call them back and state if they won’t stand by the products they sell then you will be forced to no longer do business with them and you will let your “vast” community of Tacoma, 4Runner and Tundra owners know of the type of company they are.

Yea, China isn't what it was 15 years ago. They have got game today. They are the game today.
Spent 6 months on the mainland in the late 80's. How far they have come in such a short period of time is nothing less than remarkable.

Unfortunately, most of the Chinese lights really are crap. But not because they're built in China, because they are designed by people who aren't necessarily vehicle lighting engineers, spec'd with substandard materials and assembled with considerably less precision than Koito or Hella. And make no mistake, Morimoto is an Amercian marketing company with a Japanese sounding name make their own brand of whatever in China, but they sound Japanese so they mush be great. Polishing is at best a temporary fix and never ever as good as fresh high quality polycarbonate. You also have no idea of the quality or durability of the interior reflector coatings of these cheap lights, and on projector units, you can't really see faded and tarnished aluminum coating like you can in, say, your stock Tacoma hi-beams. The stock Toyota lights are both legal and effective once you put a good quality halogen bulbs in them.

Is there a warranty for the product? Are you within that warranty period? If so, call the credit card company you used to make the purchase and tell them the distributor is not standing behind their warranty claims - you'll get your money back. I've done it before (also with Tacoma parts).

Having seen the struggles all car companies go through with their clear plastic parts, the last aftermarket item I would purchase would be headlights or tailights.

To make headlights and taillights that don’t fog, fade, yellow, leak, discolour, peal, corrode, crack, or warp in the heat, cold, rain, and sun is a huge challenge. Anyone who owned a late 80’s Toyota 4Runner or pickup with the faded red tailights knows what I mean, as do the guys with the yellowing headlights on the early Tacos. Worse than that, whenever you see a 10 year old car with aftermarket taillights or headlights, they always look absolutely terrible.

I am just hoping my OEM lights don’t suffer this fate, let alone some aftermarket knock-off with no warranty.

All, if not most if Mosko Moto motorcycle gear (www.moskomoto.com) is made in China. And their shit is pretty good. And you pay top dollar for their stuff.

Side note, I do buy American made shit from Triple Aught Design and other tactical BS companies but I know for a fact some great stuff is still made in China. Half of crate and barrel is overpriced Chinese shit (some bad some good) but I'd buy their porcelain over Marshall's or Ross.

But back to the OP. That really blows. I've seen OEM headlights (not newer toyotas) with similar issues. I'd try work with the company. Call them, email them again, then call. Be nice. Hopefully they can send you at least one replacement. Otherwise the advice is to buff and polish and look into a new sealant. Good luck sir.

    Edited some fluffy fluff

The Philips Xtreme H11 is a great affordable bulb. Here's a link for them on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BQWQN1Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah. China does make some really high quality items but remember that your new iPhone is a grand, not a couple hundred. These companies that are having these products made in China know that there is a rabid audience for cheap "upgrades" to their vehicles, most of whom think that brighter is always better and doesn't really know the difference between quality and crap, and more importantly, what's legal and not. Just saying.
