No money, all went to truck...
Hi all, before I go down to the dealership, does anyone have a go to online merchant for stock wiper blade inserts?

    Thank you

They don't sell just the inserts, you need the whole blade. Just go to your local auto store. Should be plenty to choose from. I've had good experiences with Bosch ones.

They sell the inserts at the dealer. You may check a few different dealers as the prices vary. Shipping can vary too

I've found that the factory inserts typically last longer than the aftermarket ones too. YMMV.

im on year 3 with mine and so far so good. I do keep my windshield clean and the truck sits either in the garage or work parking deck. Typically i would replace mine every 2 years or so.

Yep, the Toyota inserts are well worth the money. Got 3 years + out of last set as well.

When I worked at Toyota they only put on the factory replacement blades which in my opinion were not as good as just doing inserts.

Same here at our Jeep store but you'll hear arguments for either side here. I personally just replace the whole blade. I do refills on my '71 Fury since the original blade holders on that are stainless steel.

I should clarify. The factory blade has a different construction. If you look at the ones at the dealer they are "Sight line", when you replace the originals with these OE style you will see they are different.

Easier to snap in an entire unit but probably not actual oem. Installing rubber oem inserts is usually the best but takes a while to to do.

Thanks for all the info. I had already installed replacement frames when they were on sale at a big box store, but still have the stock frames. Seems kinda wasteful to chuck the whole frame every couple years...it's not like they ever wear out.

I had no problem getting the OEM inserts at Culver City Toyota. I think less than $20 for both. The only thing I would pay attention to is that one is slightly longer than the other so match them up before inserting.

They do sell just the inserts. I look them up online and take a picture. I go to my local dealer and ask them to match the price. If they resist tell them you can get them cheaper online but would rather support the local guy. I do it at Honda also for my Accord. It works every single time. Shit sometimes they do better with the price.

I picked them up at the local dealer for $15 each last week. I have seen them for about $8 from online dealers but shipping ends up evening things out

It's been a while since I looked and it was for my wife's car.

But if I remember correctly when searching about it, I think I found that the OEM manufacturer for her wipers were Denso and if I didn't buy it from Amazon it was likely RockAuto, which are pretty much my two go to places to buy car things online if they have what I'm looking for.

All the dealers in my area only had the one piece wiper blade models at the time.

As mentioned, this was for my wife's car and it was a couple of years ago but I figure it should be applicable to the Tacoma wipers as well. So maybe try to find the Denso model/version if you can't find it at your local dealer.
