    Hey TW,
Any luck in keeping the OEM tonneau cover from fading or how to restore back to black color? I was thinking back to black product.

    This.

Set a reminder in your phone to apply and have it repeat every 4 weeks.
Cover still looks brand new after 2 years.

Those types of products work but only for a short time. After your plastic gets that dead layer it just becomes preventative maintenance from there. I even saw a video of a guy using a secret black restoring spray and at the end he divulged that it was Pam cooking spray. I’ve also seen videos of restoration guys scrubbing the plastic with a soft nylon brush to remove the dead plastic and they they re-dyed the plastic. The key is obvious, keep the truck covered or garaged as much as possible. Being from Southern California our stuff get hammered by the sun.

Maybe plasti-dip it? Or rhinoline/bedline it?

I simply use Turtlewax Ice Detailer. I do my truck once a month or so and also do the black parts as well. Looks good and lasts a few months or so. No big deal.

Was wondering the same thing. Mine started fading after just a couple of months.

Went to the carwash yesterday and tried to clean as much as I can. Added the 303, and looks new. I don't think it restored it completely, but I feel like the protectant helped bring back a little color and not dull anymore.

Agreed. It came in from Amazon already. Looks pretty good. Probably have to do it weekly for awhile.

Yeah, I'm just going to try and apply it everytime I get a car wash since it said use on clean surface. Or maybe buy the 303 cleaner also that someone suggested to me also. Might restore it, idk

Just posted this in the detailing forum, but Rust-Oleum WipeNew ReColor. Started using the stuff on my horrible sun faded Jeep JK fenders back in the day, got tired of applying back to black every time I washed it and have used it on a shit ton of stuff since, lasts for a long time.

Bought a used factory bed cover over the weekend that was faded and hit it with one coat of wipe new tonight, and hit my predator steps that were faded some. Looks awesome and will last years. 20180710_210614.jpg 20180710_211915.jpg

Nope it's a thin watery chemical solution, burns your eyes when you open the package. Not sure how it works but it's bad ass.

Didn't I read in another thread that you must put on something that lets it breath or it will not be good for the Tonneau cover???

These things are like hard plastic or fiberglass, I think the vinyl ones you have to use something that lets it breaths and adds moisture.
