I have a 2019 TRD Sport with the premium Entune 2.0 with Navigation. I m looking to swap in an OEM unit for Apple CarPlay. I would like to retain the integrated Nav as I do use the compass sometimes and I believe that comes from the nav unit as well as Street information in the center cluster. This is why I want an OEM unit. I’m also on the fence about having a CDplayer. I have a lot of CDs I sometimes pick and choose from but I do like the bigger seemingly better resolution on the newer screens. Decisions, Decisions. Anyways, there’s a pretty long thread that covers some of the information. Starts to fill in some part #s. A partial list from @Jeff Lange. Now that I’m searching more of this I’m seeing that certain year Siennas, maybe Corollas, Camrys and even CHRs might have a compatible HU given the fact that a harness can be made by that autoharness company. Anybody have any new information on these swaps? Anybody use an HU from any of the cars I mentioned?

Just one thing. Please don’t mention any of the AM stuff. I know it’s better. I may eventually get one. I wish one would come out that COMPLETELY integrated with the stock system but it doesn’t seem to be available…..yet.

Ok so I spent the better part of 2 days putting all this together. I completely replaced the entire system I installed a few years ago. I wanted Apple Carplay and I wanted to mount a more powerful amp in a better place. I also wanted to retain my CD player which obviously limits the size of the screen. I went from a 7" screen to an 8" screen. I did my research and decided to get a HU from a 17' - 20' Sienna. Part # 86140-08100. I found one for a great price ($500) compared to the prices I was seeing on Ebay and on TW. The ONLY issue was, which I found out later, during the install, was that the unit I bought was from a 2018 Sienna. Toyota didn't start putting CP in Siennas until 2019. This was new to me. I was kicking myself sideways. SO, after a few shots of Crown Apple to calm me down. It was late anyways so I just decided to step away for the night. Next morning, I started to research again. I knew I read that this part# HU came with CP/AA. I went on a Sienna forum - yep, there's a forum for a minivan! - I found out that Toyota released a FREE update to some Siennas and Camrys. Needless to say, I was ecstatic! All I needed was the software and the TSB, which was linked on the Sienna forum. Just had to load it on my freshly formatted thumb drive and follow the instructions. Loaded it up on the thumb drive and plugged it in, nothing. CRAP! My thumb drive was 64Gb, which was too big. I was going to download a program called Rufus which supposedly I could format my drive to FAT32 but Amazon had one that could be delivered in a few hours. Ordered at 10am, had it by 1pm. Once loaded up, it ran flawlessly and seamlessly. I read that there was some slight difference like the colors in the center cluster were different but you can change them. Maybe I'll find some differences as I use it. I did lose the ability to upload custom start up screens. No big deal.
    IMG_0931.jpg IMG_0932.jpgIMG_0933.jpg

I did have to buy a couple harnesses from autoharnesshouse.com. They obviously worked perfectly. Only thing I had to do was Tesa tape it up.

    IMG_0928.jpg IMG_0929.jpg

I also installed a budget system from THAT company we're not allowed to mention. I honestly had a great experience. I had a couple questions about tuning and they answered their chat pretty fast. The PNP harnesses worked great. The Image Dynamics speakers sound pretty good. I kept my Hertz coaxials in the back doors for now. I don't know which are better I just was a little tired. I took out some Alpine Type R components in the front. I think the Image Dynamics sound just as good but I honestly don't know. I might have not had my previous system tuned right and I think the NVX amp I was using wasn't up to snuff. It is loud and clear though. My old school metal sounds great.

The only thing with the system I'm not sure I like is the fit of the sub behind the rear drivers seat. It fits, sort of. I mean, I can close the seat but I really can't open it all the way. The bottom of the seat back rotates right into the sub surround when I try to push the seat flat. I really never have to open this and I never really use the storage back there so it not a huge deal. I might look into on of those JL subs.

I also installed one of those Carlinkit 4.0 adapters for wireless Apple Carplay too. A little funky setting that up. I really wish Toyota would have put a media port in the glove box. I ended up drilling a hole in a unused blank and running the small cord to the module mounted in the console, out of sight.

The update did render my Germes Lab front camera module inoperative, I think. I actually didn't even try it but every where I read said that the module I had wouldn't work with the Entune 3.0. Anyways, it's all up and running and I'm happy

Do you have the ability to see music info still in the center cluster and/or navigation and street names in the center cluster? I did a swap to a radio with no navigation and it works good but obviously the nav page and compass are gone in the center cluster. But my music page in the center cluster is blank also. Not a big deal but its annoying knowing that i once had it.

All my information is in the center cluster as it was before with the Nav and music tabs.

Mine is like master96. I’m missing the same info, found out if you had factory Navi (no matter how shitty it was) the replacement HU needs to have it as well. The people here that have the cluster as it was swapped it with another Navi radio. I got mine without realizing this till it was installed. If anyone has one with Navi and doesn’t need it or wants to swap. I’m here. Plus a few dollars.

I wonder if the dealer can add on navi. But that still confuses me on the audio info missing

Nope, don’t feel bad. You did the exact thing I did. Be careful people advertise the HU as having Navi and they really do not. If you have a factory Navi radio like me. Without JBL. You need HU 86140-04200. That has navigation oem. They usually have a extra control box under the HU with extra wires.
