The bolster is worn through on our drivers side seat bottom. anyone have a link to the correct material (to repair it with) or have a good set of takeoffs?

This is the style of seat that we have (not ours), and this is about how ours is worn through:

Having been there myself, you've got a wide range of options at varying prices. Most people opt to go with seat covers; you can spend as little or almost as much as you want - and generally get what you pay for. The next step beyond that in cost/effort would be a seat cover replacement. This involves completely removing the seat from the vehicle, properly removing the ratty old stock cover, and using some hog rings and pliers to install an entirely new cover. Most people who do this end up spending around 8 hours to do the two front seats, at least the first time they do it. I went the route of purchasing a set of Katzkin leather cover replacements and have been very happy with them. They're not cheap(nor their competitors), but I had already thrown out a set of the famed Wet Okoles, because I hated them and wished I never bought them. That having been said, you can also order a new stock seat cover from a dealership like McGeorge Toyota, or someone of the like, but be advised that you're taking on the more labor intensive seat cover replacement, and theres a good chance it wont match the rest of the interior 100%, since your truck is almost 14 years old and things have probably faded. Just my two cents, stretched out into a whole dollar...

Replacing the seat covers isn't hard with the right tools.

    seat covers - 2008
    - there are several different versions including bucket seats with or without offroad package. Make sure you get the right one. Call the dealer and verify with your Vin if necessary.

I am installing heater pads in my 2009 this weekend, and I ended up purchasing an OEM driver bottom for 4+ bills. I ordered a 'look a like' from Ebay first, but it didn't match properly. If you are not interested in a perfect match, then this would be an option. They sell the seat bottom cover for about $150. I used the same company to replace bottom seat cover on my wife's Jetta before it was sold, looked real good. The Toyota one from them not so good due to slight color mismatch and slightly larger diamond pattern material, your choice, they fit fine though. Changing out the seat covers is just time consuming. The main thing is to have replacement clips for the side covers, good possibility of clip breakage when disassembling, hog ring pliers and a stash of 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch hog rings.... I, fortunately, do not have to remove the back covers completely as the heat pad comes up to the cross support, so only a slight peel and reassemble, the bottoms are hog ring intensive, but fairly easy. Online video here for good reference... https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...0AA37B68C624DBEC021E0AA&view=detail&FORM=VIRE !!!!!!!REMOVE NEGATIVE FROM BATTERY BEFORE FUTZING WITH SEAT REMOVAL!!!!!!!!!!!

He's not replacing with leathers tho. Does the company make a cloth option? Most companies don't.

Uh, the vid is for the PROCEEDURE, every step is the same as cloth seats, I referenced it for removal/install guidance should he choose to do it himself...

MY drivers side seat was getting torn up on my 2010 so I recently installed Wet Okele front and rear seat covers with heat pads and lumbar support. I was able to get them for a great price in a factory direct group buy. I love having them and can definitely recommend them so far.

I hate neoprene seat covers. I have them on my rear seats only because of my dog.

I have not used them or seen them in person, but from the photos I've seen, they don't look they fit very tight. They should however last a lifetime being made by Carhartt.

I have one on my passenger seat that used to be on my driver's seat before I upgraded to a sheepskin. It's been doing pretty solid duty for 5-6 years at this point and IMO worth every penny. I haven't been bashful about slinging shit into whatever seat it's covering - tool bags/boxes, cargo bins, whatever - and despite that, sun, salt, and dog traffic, it's still good to go.

So, just to give an update on seats, covers and heaters etal. After watching the video I posted in the link above several more times, I decided to do the deed. I started with the passenger side (discovery side) and carefully undid every attachment, pulled back the upper seat cover and installed heating pad, reassembled back, then pulled the bottom cushion and removed seat cover then installed heating pad, reinstalled all the plastic covers, cleaned seat thoroughly, shampooed the carpets under the seats, reinstalled seat. The first one took 3.5 hours total. Then I pulled the driver side and slammed that one out in 1.5 hours, along with the new driver side bottom seat cover. I think an experienced Upholstery person could whip these out in 30 to 45 minutes each. It is not that hard if you wrench at all. Tested and the heaters work nice...Nirvana with the coming colder weather.

By the time you find something similar (it is vulcanized foam backed, gonna be tough), the cost and time removing, having the upholster section the old area out and replace it, get the piping edge perfect is not going to be cheap. I don't think you can beat the $300 price for a whole new OEM seat bottom cover, and it is really pretty easy to replace....
