I appreciate the advice, and I'm sorry about the caps thing. I have to say I've seen that video on YouTube, but I don't have that type of grill. I have the factory grill with the Toyota circle emblem sensor, but thank you for trying

They are the exact same except for the TSS radar. Just unplug the thing and remove as normal. When you swap the sensor, remove the screws, pull off and reverse for the new grill.

As others have noted, removal and re-install is exactly the same as the 2016 and 2017's you just have to unplug the sensor. Taking it off should take no more than 5min

I'm sorry if my "stupidness" is frustrating for some, but I TRULY don't know how to proceed. I'm using ALL advice & seeing what is the best for me and my truck. Yes it's like the one Dirty Hairy asked me about.

In other words, please don't troll him. He might actually take his wheels off before removing the tailgate so he can get to the grill.

In this case, take it to a shop and pay someone to do it.

Is it a pull and unplug sensor, or are there tabs to open on this one? I'm attempting next week and haven't even looked it yet.

But you basically keep saying you're not able to do it when all the information is in this thread on how to do it. It's not that difficult. Either just go do it or take it to a shop.

No I didn't, & if I did I'm sorry for the confusion. I simply didn't see ANYWHERE how to uninstall the factory grill like mine that has a sensor. I didn't want to TRY to remove it and break anything.

Tss is new to 20k people with tacomas a month, many of which find their way here to ask questions. Be cool when it makes people nervous to start taking it apart. They'll be plenty more questions just the same. This site is great about helping those with questions.
