Tried to order a bed step for my 2020 today…yes I am old. Order complete all good. Nope I get a follow-up that this part has been discontinued by Toyota and is no longer available.
For all old-timers and the vertically challenged that might need to know the new part number is PT392-35230. Bad news it’s on a “national back order”.
Anybody know what the change is about?

Ya I agree. Just get 1 from Amazon. They're pretty much all the same.

Thanks Sherm, yeah in addition to ordering it online I talked to a parts rep who told me all dealers have a national “stop sell” order.

OP, just get one from Amazon, around $100 and move on with life. No point in trying to figure out what’s going on on Toyota’s side

Probably a lawsuit related stop sell thing. Someone loses some shin skin and we all lose our ability to buy bed steps. Amazon still has them with a different part number as posted above. Also, Amp Research makes them and it supposedly has a different bracket so it fits tighter underneath the bumper according to reviews on Amazon.

    AMP Research part # 75317-01A

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Phew! Glad I got mine before the stop sell order went out! Be interesting to find out why and or what changes though.

I just installed mine 2 weeks ago. Got it just in time apparently.

    Ordered from BAM Wholesale

Thanks for all the input. I was pretty set on the OEM one. Read/heard some not great things about the lower priced aftermarkets. As MGM pointed out the AMP research gets good marks just more expensive. If Toyota doesn’t get this resolved soon I’ll probably dig up a jar of money and get the AMP.
