Does Toyota warranty the bed cover for anything? Got my truck used a month ago and noticed it was slightly damaged but don't care too much. But curious if they warranty it? Still have 7 months left on the bumper to bumper. It also leaks a bit in the rain.

    Thanks!

Worth asking, but I'd bet dollars to donuts they'll claim it's damaged due to misuse.

If the truck was purchased new, it should be covered under the basic 3/36. But used, I doubt it.

Likely should have asked for a new cover or repair as part of the deal then. Because it looks like damage, not a defect.

That's good, as I doubt Toyota will either.

Only cover I've never seen leak is a one piece hard cover that laps over the edges an inch or so.

You'll have to ask them. Dealer discretion is a big player in a lot of warranty decisions. Just don't have high hopes. Then at best your expectations will be exceeded.

Unfortunately it wasn't at a Toyota dealer or I would have. Toyota dealer probably would have fixed it before selling it I would imagine.

I'm going to take it in soon for other reasons but will at least ask. Just wanted to know if anyone had experience with it.

Looks like someone slammed that section down from the opposite side and didn't realize something (handle?) was barely sticking out......

Won't cover it as there is no way to show it was a manufacturer defect, it's used, and wasn't resold by a toyota dealership. However you don't have to buy a whole cover to replace that one broken part. I had a warranty replacement for 1 piece for my bed cover 2 months ago and they just replaced the $20 part. Parts department pulled up the schematic on their computer had me show them where the part went that had broken off (1 of the 4 the little 2" sections with weather stripping between the large pieces)

That's a factory cover, however it's been misused!

Doesn't matter. If they want to close the deal and see this as the final barrier, they'll get it fixed.

Just make a mental note for the next time purchasing a brand at a non brand dealer.

Hopefully its a piece of a part that's replaceable as @andrewbrandon19 mentioned and you'll get it cleaned up for low bucks. :fingerscrossed:
