Just hit the two year mark almost to the day and my battery died yesterday. Very little warning, maybe one or two sluggish starts but not much more than that. And it was just in for the 20k service so I'm sure they checked it then....uh...yeah.

They replaced it after a three hour testing process with the Toyota TrueStart below, and they were very upfront about telling me not to expect much more than 2 years out of that one either.

Just a heads up, if you notice a slow start or two, be wary.

Any paperwork? Seems hard to believe anyone told you to not expect anything more than 2 years out of a new one.

I’m on my third one in a year. NE winter killed them. These batteries do not like the cold and low CCA

LOL, I got the old...."This Florida heat just kills 'em."

Heat, cold...you'd think 100 or so years of car batteries would be enough time to figure these things out huh.

Paperwork is in the glove box, although I doubt they actually typed anything like that on it at all.

Both "service advisors" at the desk said the same thing, were very apologetic about the testing process and wait time, and said several times this is a regular thing and 2 years was the going rate.

1-2 years is about right for extreme climate areas.

OEM batteries and tires have been crap in every new vehicle I've bought since 1990. I expect to replace them by the 3 year point.

I replaced my battery at the 30 month point and wasn't surprised that it died when it did (merely inconvenienced).

I am shocked that, here at 44 months in, the tires are still decent. Props for Toyo.

These days I am pleasantly surprised if a battery makes it past the 2.5 year mark here in the Southwest. I've tried a lot of different types and they all crap out due to the seasonal cycle being pretty harsh (short fall and spring seasons). Also battery manufacturing isn't what it used to be and there are a lot of electronics on vehicles these days. It's just part of routine maintenance to keep an eye on things nearing the 2 year mark in my opinion.

I've looked around but can't find any details on what the actual 84 month warranty is on the new one.

I'm sure it's prorated somehow, or there's some major fine print in there to limit things.

EDIT: Found it...so yeah, good for 2 years then downhill with the quickness.

84 months for a battery? In what universe do batteries last that long?

Just had mine replaced because it was leaking out of the vent caps - couldn’t handle the off-road jostling i guess

LOL none, not even the Marvel universe.

Found the warranty, it's 100% covered for 2 years then drops like a rock.

I still had the original batteries in my 2010 Ram 2500 when I traded in it for the Tacoma in May. I bought it in Mar 2010, so they were at 110 months and still going strong at that point. We'll see how long this battery lasts.
