That's not 100% true. The cheap Veepeaks and other very cheap adapters have a slower sample speed and doesn't have the physical guts to read ALL individual manufacturer data. I confirmed this myself several years ago using the OBDFusion app with Veepeak and OBDLink MX readers. The Veepeak left much of the data prolovided in OBDFusion as unlabled whereas the OBDLink MX had every field in the OBDFusion app properly labeled and in the correct section. I tried using the Veepeak on my 2015 BMW S1000R and it displayed almost no data with the Motoscan app whereas the MX again displayed everything and let me edit the service light millage and date times.

Interesting. My 7yr old adapter doesn't have this limitation.

I will recommend the other models in the future.

    Thanks!

I use a Carista adapter and OBD Fusion app to monitor all my vitals. All in, less than $30.

    Works fine, no issues.

I would note that the $140 OBDLINK MX+ has extra features that are not meant for our tacos and the same bang can be had for $90 in the OBDLINK LX

I have a Foxwell NT530 which came pre-installed with Toyota software. Free lifetime updates too. Yes, it does transmission temp.

I went SCII because I didn't want to be bothered with using my phone as another tool.

If you want to monitor trans temps a lot (not just periodically check) a tool like that will give data on every drive.

I love where it is mounted. Easy to read but out of the way.

    Velcro baby!

Male side glued to the SCII, then it clings right to the headliner material.
