I've exhausted my resources of trying to solve this code/CEL. Cleaned MAF, air filter and housing, pulled negative battery cable, drove about 50 miles after. After pulling battery cable I was able to get the CEL to stay off for about 20 miles then it will come back on and return as soon as I clear it and will do that for about 20 times of back to back clearing and then will stay off for about 20 miles and repeat. Truck is running perfectly normal. My ultra gauge is telling me the air intake temp is -40° when it detects the code. A new sensors is $206.95+tax and not returnable. I don't feel like it's the sensor because of the occasional 20 mileish spurt of no CEL. Truck does have a cai but it's had it for about 75k miles. HELP! That little light is driving me crazy

Do you have a buddy with a Tacoma v6? You could swap sensors just to make sure

Have a wife with a 4.0 4runner and meant to do that before making this post but I forgot! I'll try right quick

Well that was a fail. It's a wonder how two 4.0L engines can be so different. MAF sensors are nothing alike
