I purchased an aftermarket power steering hose because mine was leaking. These 3 o rings came with the hose. Can anyone tell me where it goes. When I took off the original hose I dont remember an o ring on the end that goes into the steering rack. I put the green o ring on the one end but Im 95% sure that is not right. From videos showing this getting replaced there was no o ring to be seen when its removed. Any help is appreciated.

I think you're memory is correct, that there isn't an o-ring on that flared end. I believe that just seals as it's tightened.

After doing some more digging, it seems that others have had the same question and had no problem with leaks by not using the o-ring. The thread below talks about how the o-rings are provided to apply towards an aftermarket steering rack. I don't remember seeing an o-ring on the oem power steering hose that I removed from the steering rack end. Hope this can help someone out in the same situation. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/power-steering-pressure-hose-o-ring.564204/

Unless somebody else writes different, flared fittings do not use O-rings. Just make sure the mating surfaces are not scratched or otherwise boogered.

If you use oring on flare end you cannot tighten enough to seal against the nipple

only way you'd ever use oring is if there is a distinct slot or inlay on actual bushing..
bushing lip still has to extend below oring to firmly press on the double flare
